Assistive Listening Devices (ALD's)
ALD's consist of amplification devices and alerting or signalling devices. Amplification Systems are available for the television, car, meetings, theatre, telephone, and restaurants to increase the Signal-To-Noise (SNR) for the listener (eliminating distance reverberation and background noise, which degrade the signal). Some systems are wired (direct audio input) while others are wireless (infrared or FM transmission). The systems may be for personal or large area use.
